Training and support

Training
Training and support program details: Scoop School is our training program designed to teach new owners everything they need to know to be successful. Our program is organized into two sessions. Prior to attending session 1, each new owner is given access to our online repository of training materials, videos and operations manuals to better prepare themselves for Scoop School. Scoop School Session 1 is held in Rochester, New York and last 4.5 days. - Session 1 is intended to teach new owners the basics with practical, hands on learning of everything from our equipment and inventory to guest service skills, interviewing skills, marketing strategies. - New owners will spend 85% of their time on their feet learning from our training team that has on average 25+ years of experience in our business. - The "classroom" portion of session 1 is spent learning back office skills such as accounting, payroll, scheduling, inventory management, HR responsibilities, etc. We have specific goals that must be achieved during Session 1 before the session is completed. Scoop School Session 2 is held onsite at a new owner's location once construction has been completed. - Scoop School Session 2 follows a similar agenda compared to Session 1 however it lasts longer since it begins with setting up an entire new location for an owner. - Session 2 focuses on refining skills taught during Session 1 and also working on our new owner's training skills so they will have the capabilities to train their team. - The Abbott's Corporate team that runs Session 2 is also there to help train the first group of new employees with our new franchisees. Our Corporate Training team will stay on site until they are satisfied that our new franchisee is comfortable with the operations and has mastered the necessary skills to operate their business without us on site.
