What an SBA Franchise Directory listing means
An SBA directory listing can simplify a loan application. It is not a loan approval.
By Editorial team ยท Reviewed
The U.S. Small Business Administration maintains a Franchise Directory of brands whose agreements have been reviewed for eligibility under SBA-backed loan programs.
What a listing does
If a brand is listed, lenders do not need to separately review the franchise agreement for SBA eligibility, which can make the process smoother.
What a listing does not do
- It does not mean the SBA endorses the brand.
- It does not mean any particular buyer will be approved.
- It does not guarantee loan terms or amounts.
Lenders decide based on your credit, collateral, experience, equity injection and the specific project. On this site, a listing is shown only as "listed in the SBA Franchise Directory (per source data)."
